“PARTNERS IN POLICING”
PROGRAM SEEKS VOLUNTEERS

“Partners
in Policing” are members of our community who are recruited
as volunteers and trained in various police related duties and function
in direct support of the local police. These volunteers function
as an auxiliary unit of the police department, but have no powers
of arrest beyond those of any private person.

Volunteers assume many tasks, which were previously being performed
by paid police personnel. This significantly enhances the department’s
ability to focus its personnel resources on tasks that volunteers
cannot do. The “Partners in Policing” program is designed
to draw upon the experience of the citizens of our city, tapping
a tremendous community resource and developing it as an assisting
entity of the Tustin Police Department.
